The conversation

IN THIS
EPISODE.

What is it like to live in an ashram in India for two years? I sat down with Ayurvedic practitioner and yoga teacher Prasiddha, who put off university at 18 to volunteer in a village in the Ecuadorian Andes, then followed her brother to India and ended up running the yoga department of an ashram.

We talk about the Inner Awakening program in Varanasi that started it all, her 3:30am starts and the child monks she taught, why she says Ayurveda treats the person and not the disease, and the oil pulling and tongue scraping habit I picked up from her in a car park. I also share what came up for me on my Vipassana retreat, and we ask whether a healer should charge for their work.

Prasiddha finishes with one place to start: sit with the question 'Who am I?', a practice called Atma Vichara.
