How do you become an artist by accident? We sat down with Jenna Hutchinson, the painter behind Love Ludie, a name she took from her childhood imaginary friend.

Jenna began making candles in her kitchen for extra cash, and the candles she made for a wedding ended up in Vogue. That led to her candles in Quiksilver stores around Australia, a clothing store in Geelong she bought on a whim, and a lockdown where she offered five paintings on Instagram for $99.95 each, made $1,200 and went on to paint 278 commissions in 12 months.

She also opens up about why early success left her more anxious instead of more confident, losing her dad, and the brain dump paintings that often turn into her best pieces.
