The conversation
How do you build a yoga business across two countries, and how do you know when it's time to step away? I sat down with Jacqueline Alexander, co-founder of Humming Puppy, the yoga studios in Melbourne, Sydney and New York where a hum plays through every class.
Jackie went from managing dental practices to opening her own studio, then spent nine months in New York building a studio that left her burnt out and done dreaming. We get into how a vibrating bar floor sparked the idea, why the rooms are black with no mirrors, why she would rather do the work herself than hire the wrong person, and how they built an on-demand platform in five days when the pandemic hit.
She also explains what yoga nidra is, and gives her advice for anyone who feels stuck: start with five minutes of space a day.
